iSkysoft Data Recovery enables you to restore lost or deleted files from your local directories as well as various types of external storage devices. The tool features a user-friendly and nicely-designed interface, immediately scans the selected drive, and allows you to preview the found files before recovering them.

You have access to a wizard assistant that guides step by step while configuring the scan settings according to your needs. You can select the preferred file types and scan location. If the quick scan fails to provide you with any results, try the deep scan mode. Even though it might take a while to complete a deep scan, it increases the chances to find lost or deleted data. Once the scanning process is complete, you can preview the found data and use various filtering options to reveal the files you wish to restore.

Sadly, you cannot restore any of the found data if you're using the trial version of the utility. Once you buy the product for your PC you will be able to recover the found files you need.

Another thing that bothers me is the fact that it doesn't let you select certain types of file formats for the scanning process. Instead, you can choose the format category (photo, audio, etc.). Having an option to select the preferred file format would definitely decrease the amount of time you would spend waiting for the scanning process to be completed.

Still, iSkysoft Data Recovery brings you many useful advantages, is very intuitive and comes with a reasonable price. It's up to you to decide if it's worth buying the tool or not.
